Australia: 1901-1988.
Money Order Regulations - 1922.

The 1901 Post and Telegraph Act authorised the use of Money Orders in Australia under conditions which existed in the Australian Colonies before Federation.

Minor adjustments were authorised from time to time - such as in 1906 and 1907. The latter changes - which mainly altered rates to be charged - came into effect from 2 April 1907. Full details of the costs charged and the operation are contained elsewhere.

Other changes were authorised in subsequent years. The following has been extracted from the Post and Telegraph Guide No. 19 June 1922 to show, by way of example, the nature of the Money Order system at that time just before Percy Brown was appointed.
